HRF Weekly Update - August 27, 2017

This Sunday, August 27, 2017, fellow HRF member Rob Gouge will be preaching from Psalm 63:1-5.

We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday. Here is a list of the songs we will be singing this Sunday as well.

Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.

  1. Jesus Our Substitute - Jesus came to live the life we should have, and die the death we deserve.
  2. A Surprising Ingredient In Christian Contentment - We must know God’s word, trust his providence, and cling to his promises. However, there’s another I’d like to add that you may not be expecting— a robust doctrine of sin.
  3. Getting Bored With The Right Things - The disciples slept while Jesus agonized in the garden. Jesus slept while the disciples panicked in a boat. Just like the disciples, we can fret about the world's storms and remain asleep to the gospel.

Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another. You can also view an archive of recommended discipleship resources here.

We are pleased to announce that Fellowship Groups will be resuming again the week of Sept 3, 2017. These groups will run from September through November 2017. A Fellowship Group is a formal group who commit to meet together regularly for the purpose of living and cultivating gospel community with one another (Acts 2:42-47). They are one of the best ways to experience formal gospel community and an opportunity to help facilitate discipling relationships with other members.

Please take a moment to view and signup for a Fellowship Group for the Fall 2017 term (Sept - Nov 2017) here.

We are excited to offer training for anyone interested in being a part of our Hospitality Team. Whether you already serve each week or you’ve never served before, we hope you’ll join us Sunday, August 27 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30pm in the Sanctuary. Lunch and Childcare will be provided. If you have any questions, please contact Elaina at

Please RSVP here.
