"James: Faith That Works" - New Sermon Series
This Sunday we will begin a new sermon series at HRF - "James: Faith That Works".
The book of James is one of the most practical books in the New Testament. "Be quick to hear and slow to speak!" "Be doers of the Word and not hearers only!" "Pure religion is this..." Outside of Jesus' words, you can hardly find a New Testament book more practical than James. The book itself contains a higher frequency of commands than any other book in the entire New Testament!
But it's not just about following rules for the sake of following rules. James wants the church to see the inseparable relationship between true faith and works. Christians are people who have been saved by the Word to be doers of the Word. The Word that saves us should be the same Word that changes us in practical ways. And so the book of James is about practical faith and practical wisdom to live consistently Christian lives as we endure the trials of this life and wait for the promises of God.
Join us as this Sunday as we travel through this great little book over the next few weeks!
